2009 Toyota Supra is Mine

A few months ago, Toyota reignited the 1st generation Rice Rocket fan in me with their new concept car – FT-HS. Growing up in Los Angeles, I’ve always been a little car crazy starting off with my 1990 Integra RS which I slammed, straight-piped and blew an engine with (racing that damn Maxima on the 57 freeway . . DAMN YOU!), then moving on to my 1993 Honda Prelude Si which again I slammed and straight piped along with giving that baby some nice 17″ Enkeis on 40 series tires!
As I grew older and my lower back began to go out, I then moved onto a Ford Expedition, which after months of MTV Cribs Brainwashing gave me the idea to put it on Dubs and a give it the first Harley Davidson Front Kit placed on an Expedition (that’s what the dealer told me):

I just recently moved onto an Infinit FX35 last year (completely stock if you can believe that) to counter today’s rising gas prices. But because of my lead foot, I’m getting the same mpg that I did with my expedition! Dammit! This by far has been my most favorite car as it’s a perfect blend of speed and size.
So back to the new 2009 Toyota Supra. The lease on my FX runs up exactly in 2009, so it must be a sign for me to get the Supra, right? First of all, it’s a hybrid using the same engine as the current Lexus GS 450h, generating 400 horsepower and capable of going from 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds while sipping on gas at about 30-40 mpg – all for between $30-40k! I’m calling the Toyota Dealer right now to ask about the wait list. I’ll let you guys know how it goes after I put myself on it =)
See ya in my Rear View Mirror!

that’s a pretty tight car, i think i can see you rollin in it… but the picture still looks a little too “concepty” for me.

hey . . if it goes 0-60 under 4 seconds, it could be powered by Mr. Fusion and I wouldn’t care!

I agree, they need to smooth out some of the lines!

Hi!!
You were tagged!
You need to tag some new people and write the post. Sort of like a “train” but much cooler.

Is it really going to replace the Supra? I thought there was going to be a new Supra anyways. But 400 HP plus the added bonus of actually getting good gas mileage?! I’m in. However I fear like the new GT-R it will be way, way, too expensive. So hopefully by ’09… I’m rich. But yah, other than that I kinda like the rims and accel plugs – http://www.speedyperformanceparts.com/accel-plugs_p.html – but I don’t really know why. And the front end reminds me of a Mazda. And the Top end reminds me of the new GT-R; And actually looking back up, most of the front end resembles a Mazda save for the lights.

I had a 1988 Supra and missed it ever since I sold it. I’m going to have a close look at this new version! I doubt it will be a hybrid – it would be hard to win over the tuner community with an eco-friendly rice rocket.
