    Becoming a Blogging Hero

bloggingheroes.jpgA few months ago, I received an email from someone claiming they were a New York Times Best Selling Author – Michael A. Banks. I thought it was a joke, but I checked his background out and he was telling the truth! Mr. Banks wanted to interview me for a book he was writing called “Blogging Heroes” and told me he has already interviewed authors of some of the biggest blogs out there – Joystiq, Blogroll, Autoblog etc. Apparently, the editors of “Blogging Heroes” heard of my blog from the all the Link Trains I was doing in the summer and asked Mr. Banks to contact me to see if I’d like to be in the book. I was extremely honored to be asked and set up a phone interview with Mr. Banks, which ended up lasting about 45 minutes to an hour. He asked me a lot of questions about Link Trains and gaming the system, so to be honest, I’m not sure how I’m going to be received. I just wanted to tell the truth and pass along my main message which was that my “success” can be attributed more to my network of bloggers than anything else.

The book is scheduled to come out in late November, so keep a look out for it. Actually, I’m probably going to announce the release of it as soon as I find out about it. Look for me at your local Borders . . . I’ll have some signing dates ready for everyone as well :) Oh, and don’t forget about Blogging The Movie – I think I’m going to be in that, too. Lord, if my head gets any bigger, I’m not gonna be able to get through the doors.

Here’s some excerpts from the book if you’re curious:

Do you have advice to offer new bloggers?
My advice on getting more traffic is to participate in other blogs. You need
to participate by commenting and supporting other bloggers.
Meet people who share some of your interests—even if the interest is just
reading a particular blog. If you can do that and produce quality content,
you’re going to develop a rapport with just about everyone you approach.
    Your reputation will precede you.

What do you find gratifying about blogging?
Networking. The fun has been meeting people from around the world.
There is nothing more gratifying than that, and knowing you’ve been able
to help people—just increase their rankings, or plant a seed in their mind
to help them be more creative and do things. Meeting people and watching
them grow—that’s been the most satisfying part.
I look at the whole blog thing as a big party, and everybody is trying to
meet each other—trying to build their cliques, as with any social function.
There are always cliques. And there’s always that one person who is just
trying to meet people, and right now that’s what I am.

How did you climb to the Top 100 so quickly?
I’m not going to lie and say, “I did this on purpose.” I really attribute it to
my network of blogger friends. The people I started blogging with all pretty
much started to blog at the same time as I did. We met one another on John
Chow’s blog [http://www.johnchow.com] and commented on John Chow’s blog
because we were trying to get noticed. And we linked to each other. We
would start dialogues in the comments sections.

Wiley Publishing has given me permission to post a link to my chapter, so give it a read and let me know what you think: Blogging Heroes – Mr. Gary Lee

Also, Boing Boing has posted their Chapter, so if you want to read, go check them out as well!

that’s so cool. you’re my hero! ;) but i agree, it’s all about networking and participating with other bloggers, in a constructive and intelligent manner. with the tons of blogs out there, it’s the only way to get noticed.

The Free iPhone Giveaway Results Episode

So, I wanted to raise the bar on giveaway videos a bit and take advantage of the eyes that are watching these kind of videos. For those that have always been interested in making these kind of videos for their own kind of blogs, I just want to point out some key things that you should keep in mind when making your video:

    • Remember your Brand – I used my Banner Image along with reminding people they’re on MrGaryLee.com
    • Take Advantage of the time leading up to the Desired Message/Announcement – I used the time prior to the announcement to help Prija promote BloggingTheMovie.com and also my new site – CreativeTrafficBuilders.com.
    • Don’t Over Edit your video – We were lucky enough to finish this video in 2 takes. In the world of video blogging, it’s best to present as genuine a broadcast as possible and that’s best shown with unedited video such as this.

So, I know it’s been a long time since the contest actually started and I realize the contest should have been over a little bit earlier than this, but a lot has been going like switching jobs, moving to a new part of town and coming up with the idea for this video, so I hope all of you can be understanding of this. In any case, the important thing is that the contest is now officially over and we have picked a winner – (watch the video for the winner) – a really great blog that talks blogging and other techy stuff. Feel free to visit her blog and congratulate her!

I wanted to give a special shout out to people who have helped with this contest, the video and promotions:

Free Link to ask Yahoo about their SEM program

A couple of weeks ago, my marketing manager at my new job asked me if I would like to go down to Yahoo’s “Advertiser Workshop” in San Diego to see what they are up to these days. I said “of course” since it was a great chance to confirm some of the rumors I have been hearing about Yahoo’s new PPC program (yes . . even newer than Panama) and also to learn what kind of new initiatives they are going to be taking to get their company in gear.

By pure coincidence, Ms. Danielle will be at the same conference so we’ll be able to hang again. I still can’t believe it’s been over a month and a half since I have stopped working with Danielle at our old office, but I’m sure it’s going to be like old times again when we go to this conference together.

Anyways, to the point of this email. I wanted to invite all my readers to submit questions they would like me to ask Yahoo representatives while I’m at this conference. No relevant question will be denied as I know a lot of you do not get to have this kind of opportunity, since getting help from customer service is as hard as landing a date with Jessica Alba (this goes for Google as well, so don’t think I’m playing favorites).

Here are some example questions to get your creative juices flowing:

What steps are you taking to gain market share in the SEM Market to a level where you can realistically compete with Google?

Why are your minimum bids twice as much as Googles?

Why didn’t you merge with MSN to give yourself a fighting chance against Google?

So, if you can think of any questions you will want to ask, please leave a comment with your question and I will compile these questions into a list. I promise to get all the questions answered to the best of my abilities and post the answers once I get them all. As an added benefit, I will link to those sites who’s author have asked high quality questions that will make yahoo people nod and say “damn . . that guy’s asking some damn good questions. We should take him out to dinner afterwards to get to know the guy!” OK . . i don’t have to go to dinner, but you get the point. Ask good questions and you shall be rewarded – a link to any article you want with any anchor text you want. Remember, I have some pr4 and pr5 posts, so feel free to increase my page views by looking for them:)

I look forward to hearing what you all have to ask. By the way, the conference is this thursday, Sep 17th, so cut off is Wednesday night. . . . also, if you can do me a favor and give a WTF vote for this post, I’d greatly appreciate it!

i’d like to know if they’re going to eventually license google’s algorithm, sort of like how ford licenses toyota’s hybrid technology. my guess is probably not. so i’ll probably end up asking about how they plan to make their platform more user-friendly — i.e. load time, back button usage, more integrated features. put simply, their back end really really sucks (brian and i went through YSM together last week and even he started getting really upset)

    • Derrich 7.58 am on 18.09.2007 Permalink

All these Google-esque upgrades are quick fixes. They need to do something completely different to beat Google. And my guess is that such a change will hit us outta nowhere.

    • Lalla Mira 10.10 am on 18.09.2007 Permalink

When is that conference again? Thursday 17th Sept??

    • ms danielle 10.31 am on 18.09.2007 Permalink

google works. i doubt ysm will ever launch something out of nowhere that will beat their algo. it’s all based on relevancy and they haven’t figured out the formula yet. but i’d love to be proven wrong…

    • Gary Lee 9.14 pm on 18.09.2007 Permalink

there’s one on wednesday too . . but yes, there’s one on the 17th as well

    • Gary Lee 5.39 pm on 19.09.2007 Permalink

i guess no one really cares about what yahoo’s doing . . hahahaha . . . well, i’ll find out as much as I can for everyone

    • Kanute 5.07 am on 27.09.2007 Permalink

I really don’t know what are Yahoo marketing policies, for me the most pertinent question is what Yahoo intends to do with MyblogLog? Would they add new services or maybe Ads, given that mybloglog is Ad free. Also ask them why they continue to overload their homepage. thanks

    • Israel 8.02 am on 28.09.2007 Permalink

thats a good point. I thin their main page has too much crap. it used to be so easy to navigate but now i dont even go there anymore. I use msn, its easier on my eyes.

Great Way to See if She’s a Keeper

. . . . . if she’s down to have fun like this on her wedding day . . . pat yourself on the back cuz you got one!

. . . so what do you think you could do to top this?

600 Keywords that Make Money Online

Courtesy of a posting on 4rum.info by Rishi Modi, here is a list of 600 of the highest paying keywords online today. As expected, the list is dominated with insurance, mortgage and financial keywords. If you already have a site in these industries, then these are the words you should be focusing most of your SEO efforts on. If you don’t have a site in this industry, then I would recommend that you steer away unless you truly believe you have the SEO Jedi skills to get a brand new site ranking.

For those of you who may be wondering how you can make money from this list, then let me give you a very basic run down of what you need to do.

    1) Build a Website in a related industry.

    2) Rank on Google for one of these keywords

    3) Maximize the use of Google Adwords on your site.

Here’s where the money starts to roll in. Someone does a search for “secured loans.” They click on your No. 1 ranking on Google. They are now on your site and have “secured loans” on the mind. They see the Adsense Ads on your site and click on them since those ads are related to the content you have on your site. Then you earn part of the $62.68 average price per click financial institutions are paying for this ad. Pretty simple, huh?

and now, the list with average price per click ( I did a check with SEO for Firefox and the prices are high, but probably $10-12 dollars less than what these prices say, but the list is pretty accurate in terms of high priced keywords):

Gary, can you tell me how I can get similar information on italian keywords!

I saw you used SEO tools for Firefox to check the accuracy, how do you do that? Where does it say the $ for each click.

Anybody that can answer would be appreciated.
      Thanks

almost warrants . . . it’s a really hard industry to get into . . but if you really think about it, you might be able to focus on a nice long tail that gets good traffic . . . I know of some secret keywords that are paying pretty almost as well as these words, but will probably make that annoucement in a couple of months when I’m ready!

I’m not sure how this guy did it without going into google and submitting all the keywords he suspected of having a high cost and then filtering it down.

    • Scary Website 3.36 am on 12.09.2007 Permalink

Wow. I never realized the keywords paid that high. I knew there were high paying ones in these industries, but never knew they paid out so much. Think it’s time to start an Insurance blog.

I would like to ask if it’s possible to win Goggle TOP on any of these keywords by my SEO efforts and how much and time do I need for that? That would bring huge profits in future…

I know a couple of people with sites in these niches and they get maybe $2 per click.

I think these prices are way OTT, and, if correct apply to Google’s sponsored links as opposed to Adsense on sites.

A Nudge in the Right Blog Direction

I have a friend who asked me to help set up a new blog for them using WordPress. Since they are pretty new to this whole blogging thing, they especially needed some help with plugins that will help get their blog running as smoothly as possible from the start. After I finished installing all their plugins, I wrote him an email to let him know what most of the plugins do and also gave some hints on how to increase some traffic. I thought it would be a good idea to post my email since it was a pretty damn long email and with my lack of posting, I thought . . . “perfect!”

     Dear Jon,

     Per your request:

     1) List of Plugins I used for your Blog

    Akismet – Spam Filter

All in One SEO Pack – Allows you to override the Meta Tags to Title your blog post with the correct keywords and titles.

Brian’s Threaded Comments – Great Plugin to Directly respond to comments of a Post instead of having them compile towards the bottom.

Contact Form – Creates a Basic Contact forum that gets forwarded to jrognerud@microsaw.com

Enforce http://www.preference – This is to make sure backlinks don’t get split up between microsaw.com and http://www.microsaw.com

Executable PHP Widget – This allows the insertion of PHP code into the sidebar widgets

Feedburner Feed Replacement – Once you have the RSS Feed set up, you will want to use Feedburner to distribute your RSS.

    Get Recent Comments

Google Analytics – Insert your Google Analytics Code into the Options and it will automatically tag every page so that you can track everything on your blog.

    Google Search Widget

Google Sitemaps – Creates a Google Compliant sitemap that you can upload to Google Webmasters

MyAvatars – Places the MyBlogLog avatar next to comments to place a face to someone’s words.

MyBlogLog Widget – Used in the sidebar to load MBL Widget to see who has been to the site.

Name Dropper – Social Bookmarking tool so that your readers can submit your posts to help drive new sources of traffic.

No Self Pings – I use this to decrease the amount of unnecessary pings to search engines and technorati

Optimal Title – In case you don’t use the All in One SEO Plugin, this automatically places the title of the post in front of the title of the blog in the Meta Title to promote better placement on Google SERPS.

PostPost – If you are promoting anything, you can place a 468×60 banner below each post.

Posts Related / Related Posts – Lists 5 Posts that are related to the Post just read by the reader to increase more page per viewers.

Show Top Commentators – I use this to encourage more Comments. The rewards are a free backlink from your site.

Smart Update Pinger – Pings only when publishing a new post.

Top Posts by Category – Once you have enough posts, this will display the Top posts based on views or comments

WP-PostRatings – This adds a rating system at the bottom of each post.

    2) Suggestions. Off the top of my head, this is what I think you should do.

    - Build your Content Quickly. I would suggest at least 4-5 posts per category.
    - Join a Group of Bloggers who will help link to your articles and get your blog noticed.
    - Set up an Account at the Following Social Networks: Stumble Upon, Netscape, Technorati WTF, and of course Digg.
    - Comment on other Blogger’s sites and don’t forget to respond to comments left on your own site.
    - Leverage your own network and your association.
    - The best thing to do right now is to write high quality/controversial articles that can get dugg easily and quickly.

    3) Sites that I would suggest reading right off the bat:

    http://www.doshdosh.com – Great Analysis
http://www.bluehatseo.com – Crazy Out of the Box Thinking
    http://www.johnchow.com – Great Marketing

As you can see, I didn’t link anybody since I’m really lazy right now. I’ll probably link all the plugins if there is enough requests for them, but i’m assuming most of my readers already have installed a majority of these plugins.

If you have some friends who are interested in getting started in the blogging world, then feel free to reference this page to give them an idea of what they need to install to get off on the right foot.

If you’re interested in seeing which blog I helped out, click here to see what my friend has so far on his blog. From what I’ve seen, he has some really great content that all of you might be very interested in.

I would add MyBlogLog to the list of social networks to join. For bloggers they are a good one. That is where I first found DoshDosh.

The list of plugins is useful. I have a few of them but hadn’t thought of/seen the others. I would agree that I find mybloglog useful as well, it’s a good way to meet new bloggers and new blogs.

MyBlogLog is definitely worth it because you can build a readership base that is recognizable by a picture of them or some kind of graphic. It helps!

I really don’t know if it’s mybloglog . . . you might want to check your other plugins . . . . at the end of the day, I still think it’s worth the trouble because the plugin puts a face to the name and gives commentators a chance to show off their personality . . .

Know when to Buy an Ad Campaign

As Ms. Danielle has announced on her blog, I have recently accepted a job in West Los Angeles to head up internet marketing. I really don’t want to get in to what I’ll be doing there just yet as I haven’t started, so I honestly don’t want to assume too much, especially since I found out the higher ups read my blog prior to my interviewing with them. I wanted to thank everyone for sending in their congratulations. I don’t really start my new job until September, so until then, I’m going to concentrate on tying up some loose ends with my projects sites and consulting work.

One of those loose ends is helping a buddy of mine sell some ad space for his website. The website will remain nameless for right now, but I can tell you that it receives well over 350k impressions per month and has a very strong niche following in the financial sector due to my friend’s expertise in search engine optimization. Anyways, I’ve been contacting some potential advertisers and sent them over a media kit that I made to give them a good idea of what we can do for their company. I gave them basic information such as impressions per month, uniques per month, traffic demographics, an article explaing SEO vs. PPC ad campaigns and some screen shots of where their advertisements would go.

The inspiration for today’s post comes from a conversation I had with one media director today who has me completely baffled with her ignorance and stubborness. Oh wait, let me correct myself . . she’s an “assistant” media director and I’m still, at this moment, baffled at her ignorance and stubborness. Here’s an synopsis of how the correspondence went:

Monday Email – “Dear Media Director . . . My name is Gary Lee and I wanted to see if you were interested in advertising on my site . . . I’ve included a media kit for your review . . . . . please feel free to contact me at any time! . . . Best, Gary Lee”

Wednesday Email – “Dear Mr. Lee . . . . Thank you for contacting me . . . I’ve gone through your Media Kit and your CPM seems to be a little high . . . . . the highest I can go is a $5-8 CPM!”

Wednesay Email – “Dear Media Director . . . . have you considered that this is highly targeted traffic that is actively looking for products your company offers?”

    Thurs Email – “Dear Mr. Lee . . . . . the highest I can go is $5″

First thoughts in my head are “Dayam!” . . . next thoughts I can’t write as they are full of profanity and if children read this site, their parents would come after me with pitchforks and SUVs.

So, I finally calmed down and was trying to figure out why $5 was the magic number in her head. Was it because she’s so used to advertising on the Adbrite with Network Ads or any of those other 3rd tier ad networks? (For those of you who have never used Adbrite, it’s great for a certain demographic, but if you’re going to do ad buys for financial products, let’s just say Adbrite traffic won’t be able to see through all their smoke to click on that kind of ad). Or maybe, she has a boss that gave her a $5 CPM ceiling that she can’t get past. Or MAYBE, she doesn’t know the finer points of ad buying and needs some help?

I’ll go with no. 3 and say she needs some help. Since I have this wonderful blog of information, I thought I’d add a little bit to it and see if I can show her the metrics she should be looking at when considering an ad buy for her client. In this example, I’m going to sell her some of my inventory for a 160×600 Skyscraper ad on the left side of the site. The only given in this whole example is that she will be getting 225,000 impressions from my site.

The guessing game starts when she’s trying to figure out the quality of my traffic using:

Click Through Rate – Number of Clicks on Ad out of Number of Impressions Delivered. This is something both her and I can control. If my site relied on PPC campaigns to get traffic, then I could control the quality of traffic by purchasing cheap non-relevant traffic from non-relevant keywords. Since the site’s traffic is purely from SEO, this won’t be a factor. The Media Director can control the CTR by the quality of ad she decides to run on the site. An neon green ad with pink flashing words that say “Low Rates! Sign up Here” might get a decent CTR, but she can probably get a higher CTR by appeasing to the traffic with a Well Dressed Professional flashing a million dollar smile with a tagline that read “Save Now with our 5.45% Savings Loans!” Another point that she might be considering is Ad blindness, which is when returning visitors become blind to the left skyscraper because it’s consistently the same ad over and over and over again. I usually suggest to advertisers that they either have 4 different versions of their Skyscraper Ad or at least 2 to rotate to counter this problem.

Conversion Rate - This is the number of new account signups she gets divided by the number of clicks she receives from the ad placement on the site. I have no control over this as once that visitor is on their site, it’s their responsibility. But one important thing to know when negotiating is that she should know what the conversion rate is of the page she’s sending traffic to. If she doesn’t, request to talk to someone else.

Customer Sign Up Value – This is the big one. This is the number I would like to know and the number that she should know to make all this work. Basically, this number is an estimate/average amount a customer will generate for you when they sign up for your site or product. So for her site . . . let’s say we get 100 new account signups for her site. The total revenue over the course of a year those 100 signups generate is $5000. That means on average, every time a person signs up for a new account on her client site, it’s worth $50 to her client.

So here we go . . . . remember how she was saying that $5 CPM is the most she can pay? Let’s use that and see what happens at the end of one month when all 225,000 impressions are delivered for her client. I’m going to assume a 15% conversion rate as that is usually an industry standard for any landing page (if you’re not getting 15%, fix it using Google Optimizer)!

    Impressions 225000 225000 225000 225000 225000
    CTR 5% 4% 3% 2% 1%
    Clicks 11250 9000 6750 4500 2250
    CR 15% 15% 15% 15% 15%
    Account Signups 1688 1350 1013 675 338

As you can see, I am showing her a range of CTRs that she is projecting my site to get. Most likely, she’s thinking worst case scneario which would be 1%. To tell you the truth, I think she’s going to get closer to 5%, but I’m biased so let’s go with worst case scenario. Next, let’s take a look at her projected costs. I’m going to give a wider range of CPM rates so not to reveal too much about my friend’s site.

CPM Rate Total Campaign Cost for 225,000 Impressions
    $5.00 $1125.00
    $20.00 $4500.00
    $30.00 $6750.00
    $45.00 $10125.00
    $65.00 $14625.00
    $85.00 $19125.00
    $100.00 $22500.00

As you can see, the prices for ads can get up there. The only way to justify the costs is to see what you’re going to possibly earn for the client at the end of the campaign.

So, remember the $5 CPM ceiling she is holding on to dear life for? At a 1% Click Through Rate, she would still get 338 Account Signups. She is basically saying that each customer is worth only $3.32 (Total Ad Spend = $1125 divided by Worst Case CTR Account Signups of 338) to cover her costs for the ad.

Are you beginning to see where I’m going with this? Does her client realistically only make $3.32 per Account Signup? Remember the last time you wrote a bad check . . . . didn’t the bank charge you $25 for overdraft protection? Out of the 338 signups through this campaign, her client would only need 45 bad checks to be written over the lifetime of 338 accounts to cover their costs! And that’s just writing bad checks . . . how about ATM fees, check writing fees, ordering new checks, deposit in the bank fee, direct deposit fees? I definitely think they make more that $3.32 off each account.

What do you think each account signup is worth? $20? $50? $100? Remember, this is over the lifetime of this new account! Here’s a table I made up to show you how much our favorite Media Director’s client can earn based on different customer sign up values:

    Customer Sign Up Value @ 5% CTR @ 4% CTR @ 3% CTR @ 2% CTR @ 1% CTR
    $5 $8437.50 $6750.00 $5062.50 $3375.00 $1687.50
    $25 $42187.50 $33750.00 $25312.50 $16875.00 $8437.50
    $50 $84375.00 $67500 $50625.00 $56250.00 $16875.00
    $100 $168750.00 $135000.00 $101250.00 $67500.00 $33750.00

Pretty Amazing, huh? Look at the top right hand corner where our projected $5 Sign up Value meets our worst case scenario 1% click through rate. The client ends up making $1687.50 which is a 50% gross margin. Ad companies usually will charge 20% of what they spend, so the real cost to the client is $1350, which still comes out to a very healthy 25% gross margin. Now, this is also based on the fact that I was naive enough to believe that the bank only makes $5 an account signup. You can see for yourself and guesstimate with yourself how much each account is worth.

So, what do I do now? Do I email back the media director and show her this post? Do I call my bank contacts and ask them what their average customer value is?

If anything, I hope this has given you a glimpse inside what goes on in my mind when I’m negotiating ad deals for any of my clients. Numbers don’t lie and can lead you towards a successful internet marketing path!

Have any questions or comments? Go for it . . I’m really curious to hear what you guys have to say about this post, since it’s probably the longest post I’ve written in quite some time!

    • Mark - Productivity501 11.26 am on 17.08.2007 Permalink

Keep in mind that she may have other places where she can pay $5 CPM and have conversion rates that are perfectly acceptable to her. I’d start out by assuming that she is behaving rationally–you will be in a better place to negotiate. If she is behaving rationally, then your perception of the value of your traffic is much higher than hers. If you can change her perception, you can convert her into a customer. For example, offer her a month or week for free (or at $5 CPM) in exchange for sharing the conversion rates. That gives her a chance to see the value and even if you don’t keep her as a client at the higher rate you can use the stats to help acquire other clients. (Assuming they are good.)

    • Gary Lee 11.30 am on 17.08.2007 Permalink

The only problem with offering a free week of anything is that we lose out on a week’s worth of revenue from other sources willing to pay the rates. We have done our fair share of testing and are pretty confident that we have fair rates that are competitive with other sites in our niche. Ideally, she is a rational person who will understand the balancing act of traffic and conversion rate to come to the right conclusions.

    • ms danielle 11.43 am on 17.08.2007 Permalink

this is pretty funny actually. i’ve looked into purchasing advertising on sites like LinkedIn, and the minimum CPM for them was $12 (last time i checked). i mean, come on, i saw ING Direct advertising on there. that’s basis to at least charge $20 since linkedin is way less targeted than the financial site — and their banner is in the footer. you’re charging for top leaderboard…
my guess as to their max CPA: $200. we know the numbers for some other big money industries and my instinct tells me banking ain’t that far off…gangstas… they must think you’re stupid…when in the end, they’re not gonna get the advertising.

    • Mark - Productivity501 11.45 am on 17.08.2007 Permalink

Then I would suggest going after clients who will assume that your traffic is higher quality than what they have experienced in the past. Otherwise you are going to have to prove something to them.

There was a company that operated in the travel industry. They were trying to get a deal with Expedia. They tried contacting Expedia several times, but never got any response. So instead they started sending Expedia traffic–lots of traffic for a month or so. Then they turned the traffic off by switching to someone else (Travelocity or whatever). The next day Expedia called them asking if they could work out some deal.

I don’t remember the name of the company, but I believe they eventually sold to Expedia.

I love this post Gary….very insightful into the process of working on an ad deal. It sounds like this media director thinks they are dealing with a finance site of the stature of my personal finance site, not a high traffic popular site like it sounds your friend has.

      Great read Gary,

My first instinct is that she’s lowballing you simply because YOU approached her. She thinks you need her business.

The only way it’s worth doing business with her is to throw her your excess ad space for 5 bucks with one stipulation … you can pull the plug at your discretion. As soon as your excess real estate is tapped out at the rates you want, she’s out unless she’s willing to come back at your rate.

WordPress is Getting Rid of Sponsored Themes

In a move that probably will send some shockwaves through the SEO community, WordPress Themes has started the process of taking down themes that sell sponsored links.
For those of you who don’t know, selling links on very popular themes have been one of the easiest and most cost effective ways of getting backlinks for your website using a specific anchor text. Last year, links to sponsored themes were going for well over $100 bucks, but as more and more people learned about this SEO technique, the effectiveness of this technique has decreased, lowering the amount of the links down to as low as $15.

To be honest, I don’t think it’s going to effect the overall market of sponsored themes much, since selling links on these themes has been a great source of revenue for some extremely talented designers and coders. Putting my economics degree to use, the law of supply and demand will probably say that that we won’t be able to demand quality themes if we don’t supply them the cash! OK . . that probably isn’t the best explanation, but you know what I mean. Instead of combating the “evils” of SEO, WordPress might have driven at least one nail into their proverbial coffin, since it’s obvious they’re not abiding by one of my golden rules – Quality over Quantity (except when it comes to sushi and brazilian buffets). Designers of quality themes are going to start uploading their work to other, less restrictive sites, taking the themes market share away from WordPress.

What are your thoughts about WordPress’ goody two-shoe move? Did you even know about buying links on themes? Basically . .what do you think?

google’s inherently flawed system of ranking sites based on the number of quality back links received is what creates these types of cycles. yea wordpress can take down “sponsored” themes but after this move, how will they be able to spot sponsored themes from this point forward? SEOs know how to adapt and can’t be shaken off that easily. right or wrong, SEOs will keep pushing the boundaries … until google says enough! and bases ranking on something other than links. but the catch 22 is that it’s their system creating this madness!

      You’re a smartie Danielle!

      And that’s hot… ;)

    • Jason 10.10 am on 17.07.2007 Permalink

I have been getting quite frustrated with the “powers-that-be” at WordPress. While this decision does not affect me directly, I find that the hubris exhibited by the primary decision makers to be suffocating.
If they have such a problem with sponsored themes containing lots of links, why do they include their own sites in the default Blogroll? Do they think the majority of people are so dense that we wouldn’t be able to edit out parts of a theme that we don’t like?
Most theme designers will offer their themes without sponsored links for two or three dollars, so banning all sponsored themes just because of a few bad apples that take things to extremes is about as intelligent as licking a lit halogen light bulb.
I agree that some theme developers go way overboard when it comes to embedding sponsored links, and some designs can be quite offensive with their use of JavaScript (opening a sponsor’s site in a 1×1 pixel I-Frame, for example), but this should be something that the market decides.
I would like to say that I enjoy working with the WordPress platform and many of the functions and features available. But I am concerned that Automattic may be starting down the same path that Steve Jobs took Apple back in the 80′s.

    • Matt 12.36 pm on 17.07.2007 Permalink

Now, if only they’d take “sponsored” links out of WordPress. The Blogroll, the BrowseHappy logo (in IE, in the footer of every Admin page) and the Technorati link with the “?partner=wordpress” at the end of it…

    • Dani 4.56 pm on 17.07.2007 Permalink

Definitely was not aware of this. Thanks for the update. I totally agree with Danielle, the flaw is inherent in the system. Found this site through Blogger’s Choice Awards. You’re nominated for Best Blog about Blogging. You can easily get more votes (and then more readers like me) by adding a brag badge code to your site which is the same place where people can go to vote for this site . Thanks for the heads up. Best of luck :)

Ok now I have a better understand of what the whole ‘sponsored links’ controversy is. I think it’s crazy, and like the other readers said, take them out of the blogroll!! Pot calling the kettle black maybe?

And does anyone here use the Hello Dolly plugin? I don’t.

    • ms danielle 3.50 pm on 22.07.2007 Permalink

in addition… and this is just my two cents. i’ve left my sponsor link at the footer of my blog because it’s not in the way of anything. i may one day remove it, or i may just leave it. but i know it’s there. i didn’t pay for any wordpress software — it’s free for me to use. so what’s the harm in letting someone get a link from me that helped give some money to the designer?

btw, i just checked and gary’s also left his sponsor link on the bottom. who cares?! i didn’t even know it was there until right now.

    • Francesco 11.28 am on 23.07.2007 Permalink

I really do not understand the logic behind this choice. WordPress is probably having problem with Google but they will be facing a consistent reduction.
I am sure this won’t stop the marketplace at all.
It seems an already lost war!

8 Fun Facts About Gary Lee

Ms. Q has tagged me for a little meme that I’ve always found really fun to do with some of my friends through email. She thinks there’s more to me than SEO and marketing, so I’ll see if she’s right!

    This is how it works.

    • Each player must post these rules first.
    • Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
    • People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
    • At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
    • Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
    • Credit goes to Christian for this.

My Fun 8 Facts about myself are:

    • Back in 1995, I was interviewed by the local ABC sports crew on the current status of the Los Angeles Lakers. I pretty much said they sucked and that we needed to fire Randy Pfund. One week later and with 10 games left in the schedule, Randy’s fired and Magic Johnson replaces him as Head Coach. Coincidence? I think not!
    • Thanks to my favorite pinay friend in Shorrance, I’m currently on the South Beach Diet. I’ve lost a total of 20 lbs since the beginning of this year.
    • I survived a hit and run on a LA Freeway while riding my one week old Yamaha R1 with no broken bones and just a few scars. I still ride today, but I ride bigger, LOUDER bikes like my Vstar.
    • I used to be a Tax Account for a Big 4 firm in Downtown LA. My favorite job was flying up to Seattle and abusing the company paid trip with room service, dinners at the pier and at least 4 Frappucino’s a day.
    • I was in Marching Band in High School and played the saxophone. I am very proud of my time in band and yes, I even went to band camp. Don’t knock it unless you’ve tried it! BAND PRIDE FO LIFE!
    • The first car I ever owned was a 1990 Blue Acura Integra. I dropped it hard by cutting my S/T springs 2 in the front and 3 in the back. Straight Piped it for that annoying lawn mower sound, which was easily drowned out by my 2 JL Audio Woofers powered by my Rockford Fosgate Amp! Of course, I went through my drama with it . . . stereo was stolen and I blew my engine racing when I thought my 3rd gear could handle a downshift at 80mph!
    • I’ve only been to one concert in my life and that was the New Edition Reunion Concert back in 1997 at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim. I think i got high from the 2nd hand pot that was being smoked in the arena and almost killed a ghost I saw in the road on the way home!
    • I went to a High School that was over 50% Asian, then I went to a University that was over 50% Asian, then I went into corporate America where it is 4% Asian. Culture Shock? No way . . I grew up watching Small Wonder and The Facts of Life . . I know how to interact with white folk ;)

Now it’s my turn to tag people. This is gonna be good!

    • Ms. Danielle – Just because I don’t know her well enough after spending 8+ hours with her a day anyways!
    • Jeff Kee – he can’t just be an online horndog, can he?
    • Maki – I bet he doesn’t respond to this cuz he’s all about serious blog topics =)
    • Nate Whitehill – hopefully, he can find some time to participate. He’s currently in the process of taking over China.
    • Jane May – since it sounds like everyone and their mom wants to know new facts about Jane aka Jane Chow aka John Chow v2.0
    • Ed Lau – his comedy has to come from somewhere. Wouldn’t you like to know too?
    • Leo Chiang – cuz if I’m ever in Vancouver and I get into a fight, I want to be able to email someone to help me out!
    • Marisa – the winner of the Best Workstation Contest needs to reveal where her sense of style comes from!

You is definitely NOT all about SEO and marketing! You played the Sax? then you’re gonna love Christian’s post on Peogle’s today.

All I want for Christmas is KG in Purple and Gold

    kg.png

For 3 years I have been asking for this trade . . . . THREE YEARS I’ve had to suffer the lackadaisical and uninspired play of the league’s most overrated player – Lamar Odom. Ever since Shaq left LA, it’s been a struggle to wait for Kobe and the rest of the Lakers try and keep up with team’s in the loaded western conference! The only way we had a chance against any of the elite teams is when Kobe caught on fire and would go off for 60+ points a game!

Now, we have a legitimate chance to get Kevin Garnett, who coincidentally is my favorite player in the whole league because of the passion and tenacity he brings to the court every day. The same passion and tenacity that can only be matched by one other player – Kobe Bryant. You put these two players on the same court and you’re guaranteed a great game. You put these two players on the same team and you can just tell the rest of the league to pack it in because it’s over! They can start stiching the next championship banner to put up at the Staples Center!

I know some of my friends up on the north side of the border probably aren’t the biggest fans  of the NBA, but I tell you that once you put these two players together, you’re going to feel the competitiveness fire oozing out of your television sets! As you can tell, I’m pretty friggin excited for this to happen and although this is just a rumor for now, I definitely have that feeling that it’s going to happen! I might just have to turn my cable tv back on if this happens!

Special Thanks to http://www.GetGarnett.com for keeping me up to date with what’s going on!

    Not Using Bloglines until Now

A lot of people have emailed me and asked me to participate in some of their link trains, but it wasn’t until today that I decided to join another one. The reason being is because all the previous ones that I was asked to join didn’t really have any value besides gaining links . . . think about it . . blogfusion, dofollows, alexa? Well, finally someone like Darin Carter has realized what you need to benefit from more than one system to make these trains work and to make it worth anyone’s time. As Darin stated, Bloglines is one of those important factors that go into SEO ranks as you can tell in the SEO for Firefox plugin that I hope you’ve already installed.

Anyways, it’s pretty simple. Here are the rules:
    ***Start Copying Here:***

    Here are the rules:

    1) If you don’t have a bloglines account signup for one, if you do have a bloglines account sign in to your account!

    2) Write a short introduction paragraph about what how you found the Bloglines list and include a link to the blog that referred you to the list.

    3) COPY the Rules and ENTIRE List below and post it to your blog. To avoid duplicate content and increase the amount of keywords your site can be accessible for, go ahead and change the titles of the blog. Just don’t change the links of the blog.

    4) Take “My New List” and move them into the “The Original List”.

    5) Add 3 Blogs that you’ve just added to your Bloglines List to the “My New List” section. Remember to also add the “List the Site link next to your new blogs (i.e. http://www.bloglines.com/sub/http://www.theblogurl.com/feed)

    6) Add Everyone on this list to your Bloglines List by clicking on “List the Site.” Those who want good kharma will list you back. If not, you will for sure get the benefits of readers from the bloggers who continue this list after you.

Yahoo Brings back Yang as CEO

Yahoo Brings Back Jerry YangI was checking some of my stocks this morning and after laughing at how much Apple (AAPL) stock can rise at the slightest of iphone announcements, I noticed that Yahoo (YHOO) also jumped significantly today. At first I thought it was due to the new quality based pricing that Yahoo had implemented, but then found out that Jerry Yang is back and head of Yahoo as CEO.

After 18 months of watching Yahoo stock plummet as much as 30%, I thought it would be a great time to buy into Yahoo last week after dumping my Corning and EBay stock, so this is great news for me as after market trading has Yahoo jumping up another 4.8%! I’ve written for months about Yahoo’s desparate attempts to gain back market share and any sort of credibility in their advertising departments, so the hiring of Jerry Yang is a definite step in the right direction because 1) Yang is one of the original dot-com gurus who understands the market and the industry 2) Yahoo needed to let go of Terry Semel as he was just a Hollywood big wig who came in at a time when the industry thought the internet was moving towards entertainment when clearly Google showed it was moving towards something else.

It’s going to be interesting to see where Mr. Yang decides to take Yahoo now. Will they continue to be known as the Jack of All Trades and the Master of None or will they finally be able to make a stand and yell . . . “WE ARE SPARTA!”

I Cancelled my Cable TV and Survived

appletv.jpgIt’s been about a week since I cancelled my cable service. I decided to do it now because 1) the NBA has finally come to the dreadful end 2) all my favorite television shows such as 24, House, Lost, Heroes and Greys have come to an end. At about $85 a month for basic cable, HBO, cinemax and all the HD channels, I thought the cost was little too high for watching only a couple hours of television a week, which normally would be comprised of reruns on HBO of Batman Begins or any movie that I already have in my movie library. I say only a couple of hours because I’ve been downloading my tv shows for the past couple of years to watch it when I want and commercial free. So watching television was something I did to relax and just pass the time.

I have to admit that this past week has been a little hard. I still feel the urge to plop myself on the couch after I get home and reach for that remote, but now that I know that I have no cable to watch, I steer clear of the couch and just start making my dinner a little bit earlier than usual, thereby getting to my work for the evening a little earlier than usual as well. Overall, the goal for cancelling my cable service is to 1) save the $85 a month which equals to $1020 a year 2) use my time more productively, so it seems to be working so far.

I know it seems pretty extreme to cut your cable service. I mean this is the first time in my life I’ve had no working television in my house and I would dare venture to say that a lot of you have a similar background as well. In any case, I know some of you may be wondering what they hell I’m going to do without cable tv, but I’m here to tell you that it’s not that bad. You can get your fixes in so many other ways and for those less resourceful, here is a list I made for you to check out:

    1) Get a HD TV antennae to connect to your computer’s tv tuner or Flat Screen TV – Most of the major network television stations are broadcasting HD over the air, so if you need to watch Ugly Betty in High-Def, then this would be a low-cost alternative.

    2) Catch up with your Television Shows on their Websites – One of the popular things to do last year was to catch up on your favorite shows through their websites. I know a lot of people who’s work productivity went straight down the tubes because they were busy catching up with the last episode of Lost, instead of catching up on their TPS reports. If you have a pc hooked up to your tv, then here’s your solution. If you have an Apple, I know a way where you can watch it full screen (muhaha!).

    3) Use Netflix or Blockbuster Total Access – For the price of a premium channel, you can have the latest movie releases sent to your house and now with a lot of the best tv shows coming out on DVD, you can just set aside a weekend to catch up with what people are talking about.

    4) Get Joost - The new online on-demand tv network from the makers of Skype, Joost is a great way to watch some random television shows using your computer.  I found some random episodes of Transformers on Joost along with National Geographic specials and of course, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Photo Shoot Specials are fun to watch too! Since it’s still currently in beta testing, this is an invite only program. I have some extra invites if you’d like one, so just comment and i’ll hook it up as long as I have invites to give out.

    5) Buy the Shows you watch on iTunes – iTunes is starting to do for tv shows what it has done for music. Instead of buying a whole album for one song, you can just spend your money more wisely and  buy what you want to watch a la carte. With the introduction of AppleTV a couple of months ago, I really see this as the future of television. You can even get your favorite YouTube clips on AppleTV now to help waste away your time :) . If iTunes doesn’t have it, I’ve heard that bit torrent is a great way to get your favorite shows.

How much cable tv do you watch a week? Do you think you can survive without it? What other alternatives can you think of in addition to the ones I just listed?

    • A Tentative Personal Finance Blog 8.21 am on 18.06.2007 Permalink

My wife and I watch a couple of hours a tv a night. Most of the time though, the tv is just on and we’re doing other things. I’m blogging and she’s usually reading or something else. I’ve actually been thinking about reducing our cable package… because of all those things listed. I can download most of the shows I watch. There’s itunes. It’ll save a ton!

I try not to watch TV. Basically keep it as I have a cable modem connection and my wife like the Spanish channels.

    • Derrich 11.28 am on 18.06.2007 Permalink

See…that’s where I can’t let it go. Spurs are done…but now I’ve got NFL and college football. And as a man addicted to Fantasy Football, there’s no way I can go without DirecTV’s NFL Ticket. I guess I’m just a weaker man than you, Gary. Show me the light!

    • Gary Lee 12.26 pm on 18.06.2007 Permalink

      It’s easy . . . put a fat post it on your television that says “no football . . need to make money online” . . . . . then go to espn.com and just watch highlights . . . . hahaa . . . but i feel ya . . . i couldn’t do this during the laker season! . . . btw . . congrats to the spurs . . i think you guys are still 10 behind us though ;)

    • Natron 12.33 pm on 18.06.2007 Permalink

This is why I am glad I don’t like sports!

    • Derrich 12.47 pm on 18.06.2007 Permalink

      DOH!!! Time for a run.

    • Ed Lau 1.12 pm on 18.06.2007 Permalink

I don’t think I watch any TV on actual TV other than sports. All the shows I watch are usually available for download in HD so why bother when I can simply catch up on my own time rather than their schedule?

That being said, I still have Bell satellite with the HD channels.

you don’t know how much I miss my telemundo girls

    • Gary Lee 3.30 pm on 18.06.2007 Permalink

      haha . . . maybe a couple more, but that’s it . . . Laker Nation will be back!

    • Natron 6.10 am on 19.06.2007 Permalink

I like how even the “family fun night” type programs even have stripper looking girls dancing throughout the show.

    • ms danielle 1.54 am on 20.06.2007 Permalink

wouldn’t buying an antennae, getting netflix, and installing joost defeat having all that extra production time after you get home? oh yea, where do i get one of those antennaes? :D

    • Natron 8.00 am on 20.06.2007 Permalink

Netflix has a play on demand product now too. Very nice as I can watch movies as I do my programing.

    • David Spark 12.25 am on 22.06.2007 Permalink

Don’t settle on Joost or any of these. I have a blurb about a review Mashable did on 33 different ways to watch video online.

      $1000+ /yr savings = better vacation budgets :P

I ditched the TV five years ago and haven’t looked back. Everything I enjoy is quickly and easily downloadable and commercial free.

The only thing I do miss, however, is all the catch phrases I hear at work that were picked up from commercials….

    • eric Wang 8.16 pm on 07.07.2007 Permalink

you should stop watching TV altogether. do something healthy for a change. eat less fatty foods. do some yoga. read more often.

    • The Happy Rock 8.32 am on 18.07.2007 Permalink

I have been tossing around doing something similar on my site too. Thanks for the encouragement.

More power to you. What about your high speed Internet? Must not have been cable.

    • cooliojones 1.49 pm on 18.07.2007 Permalink

I gave up my cable many years ago, and I just realized about connecting the antenna to receive hi-def broadcasts on the day of the Super Bowl!! I’ve been watching free Hi-Def TV ever since!

    Favorite Videos of Bloggers

There’s nothing like a good video clip to bring a smile to your face. Saman’s always been great at posting funny Japanese Sketch Comedy Videos and just recently, Jane (on Jeff applying for jobs) and Jeff Kee (on blondes) have been going at it with a little mini video war of themself. I thought I’d just see what other great videos out there by starting this Video Meme where I’m going to post one video, then tag 3 more people to post a great video on their site as well.

Some of you might be old enough to remember American Gladiators. I thought this was a great show when I was young, especially watching Diamon and Lace do their thing! I wondered if they saved all the equipment. This could be a great weekend warrior event. Anyways, here’s a great interview with the always eloquent Malibu:

    can’t see it? click here!

I’m tagging Nate Whitehill, Ms. Q (welcome back from South Africa!) & Jon Lee

Just in case you don’t know how to post a video on your blog, Stephen Fung writes up a great little tutorial to trim off the YouTube fat to get it working with WordPress.

      Ha, hilarious.

    • Ms. Q 5.21 am on 18.05.2007 Permalink

I’m baaaaaccck from South Africa and London. Well, kinda. I am bit jet-lagged and just starting to catch up with my “real” life! Nice new look for your blog!

I’ve never posted a video and rarely go to YouTube except when others link to a video. I’ll check out Stephen Fung’s tutorial and maybe I can come up with something. .. No promises!

    • Derrich 7.13 am on 24.05.2007 Permalink

      That IS Steve-O’s dad…no doubt.

Hey, Gary! Well, I finally got around to posting a video: http://qmusings.com/blog/2007/05/27/are-you-afraid-of-hugs/

It took me a while to figure out what to do (nail-in-the-eye fun!) and included my downloading this plugin:

      http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/vipers-video-quicktags/

But thanks for the tag which was a kick in the rear to begin including videos in my blog.

You would think that the New American Gladiators would not include footage of their first competitor getting maimed out of the competition.

    Top 5 Blogs I Read

I recently received a tag from my good blogger friend Hannes Johnson on a new 5 Must Read Blogs meme he’s participating in, which was started by The Paper Bull. It’s pretty simple as all I have to do is write something about my favorite blogs. Here we go:

DoshDosh.com – Maki’s blog was one of the first blog’s I added to my RSS subscription when I first started blogging. It was from his Z-List that I started learning about Link Trains and from that point on, I’ve learned many things about making money online with DoshDosh.Com. He’s been very helpful with focusing my blog and I had the pleasure of joining forces with Maki to make the Technorati Faves Exchange a huge success.

JohnChow.com – John Chow was the inspiration for my start in blogging. Reading his daily food stories to his tremendous success stories about making $8-12k a month through his blog keeps me motivated to succeed in my own blogging and internet career.

ShoeMoney.com – Another A-List blogger that I have read from the very beginning. I just conducted a interview with Jeremy and it shows how accomodating and in touch he is with his readers. ShoeMoney has a great blend of Jeremy’s personal experiences along with helpful blogging tips.

BlueHatSEO.com – I admit that I have no clue how to program or code, so reading BlueHatSEO.com is a little challenging for me to understand. No matter though, I still read this blog to make sure I’m up to date with what’s going on in the underground world of internet marketing.

AndyBeard.eu – Andy’s blog is relatively new to my RSS Subscription, but it doesn’t matter. He writes some of the most detailed analysis about any topic you can think of regarding internet marketing and making money online as a whole.

Tag – I’m going to tag Ms. Danielle, Jeff Kee (since Jeff Kee’s already done this meme, I’m gonna tag Ed Lau), and Jane May and much like Hannes Johnson, I’m going to tag two more people who comment on this post with something like than a 5 word sentence.

    • thepaperbull 11.18 am on 15.05.2007 Permalink

Thanks for chiming in on the meme and for passing it on
      Cheers

    • Jeff kee 11.36 am on 15.05.2007 Permalink

Uggh. I’ve already been tagged for this actually. And wrote a post.

    • Gary Lee 11.39 am on 15.05.2007 Permalink

      that’s right . . . guess I’ll tag someone else . . . haha

    • Hannes Johnson 2.05 pm on 16.05.2007 Permalink

      Cool list.
I’m seeing DoshDosh and John Chow again and again on these kind of lists. Looks like they’re doing something right ;)

    • msdanielle 10.07 pm on 16.05.2007 Permalink

Showoff Ranking Plugin by Jon Lee

One of the greatest things about the internet is the ability to give more people a chance to be innovative and resourceful. When something is needed, something will be created. Web Developer Jon Lee is fulfills this spirit of the internet by creating an all-in-one rank diplay plugin that I know many bloggers will use to replace their current display options, which he calls – Jon’s Showoff Rankings.

mgl-showoff.pngAs I would never recommend something that I don’t use myself, I have installed the plugin on the right side of the menu. With clear titles that have been spaced out nicely and with alternating bar graph colors, it’s easy to find the ranking you most care about (that “3″ still eats at me to this day!)

I have to admit I did have a little bit of trouble with installing the plugin, but this is the first release of the plugin, so I’m not going to complain at all. According to Jon’s instructions, I was suppose to just download the plugin, ftp the plugin folder onto my server and the activate it through my dashboard. Apparently, my hosting service is a little tighter on security than Jon’s in Canada, so it didn’t work on the first shot. I emailed Jon right away and asked what I should do and he responded pretty quickly and told me to create a blank html file and save it as jsr_cache.html with chmod 666. Once I did that, it was worked perfectly.

The Dashboard Plugins Option page that Jon created was oustanding. Truly one of the easiest plugin option pages I’ve worked with as the options were clearly stated and intuitivly placed.

    showoff-dashboard.png

I’d like to congratulate Jon and thank him again for making such a great plugin. I’m sure that along with helping out a lot of fellow bloggers, he has just helped himself with a great piece of linkbait to spread throughout the blogosphere that should definitely give him a reason to showff off his own rankings! If you like what you see or would like to learn more, click here to read and download the plugin.

What do you guys think about the plugin? What else would you like to see? What are some of your favorite new plugins you’ve been using?

    • Saman Sadeghi 11.54 pm on 06.05.2007 Permalink

    • Wolf Stone 11.58 pm on 06.05.2007 Permalink

    • Jon Lee 4.28 am on 07.05.2007 Permalink

Thanks for the review :D I have a few bug fixes and a new release should be out later this week!

    • Daniel B. Honigman 6.45 am on 07.05.2007 Permalink

Looks like a good way for you super-bloggers to show off your feathers. Interesting plug-in.

    • Tay 3.50 pm on 12.05.2007 Permalink

That’s a pretty nifty plugin. It’s small and looks organized and professional.
