MTV Shares Videos AND Links
Growing up in the 80′s and 90′s, I was suppose to be the kid who relied on MTV to keep me quiet and out of trouble. Well, being that I grew up in an Asian house where cable was more of a luxury than a necessity, I only got to watch music videos at the local circuit city. Well, I can finally fill in that missing void in my life by going to the new mtvmusic.com where MTV has just released it’s vault of music videos online! In regards to the free links, MTV left a opening in their comment section where you can enter some HTML and get a free link back to your site. It’s probably a technique that’s a little old school and not as effective, but if you do it correctly, you can get link backs from relevant and possibly high traffic volume pages.
Here’s what you gotta do:
1. Set up your MTVMusic.com account – Think like a fan and create a name that doesn’t raise any flags with MTV.
2. Find a relevant video – i.e. Thriller by Michael Jackson
3. Comment on the video with an anchor text – i.e. “Wow, where do you think I can get those Halloween Costumes” – using html code that looks like this <a href=”http://www.domain.com”>KEYWORD</a>
That’s it! Again, I would recommend making everything relevant and not gaming the system. Just get some relevant links here and there and you’ll be good.
