My WorkStation

March 11th, 2007

I was just checking CareerRamblings via Jeff Kee’s review, which then lead me to an interesting article about Increasing Productivity with Dual Monitors. I thought it was a pretty well written piece and it also gave me a chance to post a picture of my dual monitor setup at home, which I’m proud to say is the Number 1 rated setup on 123macbook.com =) I’m also proud to have just crammed 4 links in this tiny post!!!

I don’t have dual displays, but I have a 17 inch beast of a laptop. I don’t really need a dual display.. Although I do have a 36 inch LCD i sometimes hook up to via S Video cable.

Nice setup, I would be lost with the apple though!

Have dual 19″ LCDs at both my office and home office. Every nice for doing development work.

Nice setup. I wish mine were Mac instead of Windows. Do you play movies while working? I noticed what looks like a DVD player. I need to figure something out to get CNBC pumped to one of my monitors. Any cost-effective suggestions? Please don’t say “Get a Mac” I want to, just a matter of time.

I do 75% of all my work from my MacBook, but some times, I just have to sit down at a desk and hammer out sites or reports and a dual screen comes in great for that! I think your 36 in LCD would be pretty good too, but I think you’re limited to how high the resolution can go - 1024? I sometimes hook up my macbook to a 32″ lcd, but it’s way too bright for me to look at for too long!

here’s my apple whoreness coming out - Apple really isn’t that hard to learn. I’ve been able to “switch” 5 people in the last 6 months and all have been able to pick it up within a month. Now they tell me they can’t believe they took so long to switch - ok commercial over :)

Since I do windows based development, it will be a cold day in hell when I switch. ;)
Don’t think Visual Studio will be out for Mac anytime soon, or will it?
