I just saw this post on Stephen Fung’s Site via Samanathon’s site and thought it would be a fun post to write to keep me motivated for the upcoming months of mogulization. Just for those who don’t know, the checklist was something concocted by John Chow, since he got so many questions about what it takes to become a dot com mogul.

Here we go:

1) Your income is made from the Internet - Check! I’m going to say yes to this one since I have clients that pay me a commission based on the amount of money I generate for their company.

2) The Minimum Internet Income Level is $10,000 per Month (you cannot add income from other sources to hit this $10k level) - Not Checked! February was a short month and I’ve just started this blog

3) You have no jobs outside the Internet - Check!  The majority of my income comes directly from the internet, but i do some web consulting work, so I’ll consider that internet related.

4) You have a personal blog with your name as the domain name - Check!

5) Your blog must be updated at least once per week - Check! I’ve been trying to post at least twice a day, so getting in a post a week is no problem. I agree with Stephen Fung that we need to increase the frequency of blogging to at least once a day to obtain dot com mogulness.

6) A Google Search of your name must be at the #1 Spot - Not Checked! I’m going to wait for Google’s next sweep as I’m not even close in the search index. I come up no. 19 on Yahoo Search though!

7) You must be willing to help dot come mogul wannabes - Check! I’m willing and have helped my fellow blogger with Pink Deals.

So far, I’m at 5 for 7 which is close, but we all know that close doesn’t mean anything in the high stakes world of blogging! I don’t know how long it’s going to take me to rank No. 1 for my Name, but I’m gonna keep on chugging away as i know my content building and community building will show it’s effect soon. As for the one stack of high society, I’ll be there soon.
