The New Transformer Toys Suck
So, my super Spidey Fan friend im’d me again today and let me know that the new Transformer toys were out and asked me what I thought of them. Being that I already saw the trailers for the movie and got freaked out at the sight of BumbleBee (who happens to be a Chevy Camaro . . seriously – WTF? . . it’s not BumbleMaro), I wasn’t too excited to click on the link my friend sent me. No matter what, I AM excited about the Transformers movie coming out on 7.4.7!
Before you see the pictures, remember back in the day when toys were pretty damn good? The complexity and attention to detail of the older toys, especially the ones from Japan, would just kill about anything built today. Toymakers today are all about plastic molds that snap together and bright flourescent colors that just hurt the eyes!
Go ahead, compare the new with the old and tell me which one more than meets the eye!

I couldn’t agree more – that’s why I’m really impressed with the Trasnformers Alternators line. They are metal toys modeled after real cars!!

I can not believe it those toys look like crap. The need to transform those designers back to the drawing board or better yet back to the mail room.

I’m going to have to wait till I see the toys up close and personal. I am eagerly awaiting the movie too. Yesterday was a Transformers Media Blitz day. The shoe one is funny. There is a video of a transforming shoe somewhere and that is where that idea came from. Some of th toys are not half bad and I think Bumblebee as a Camaro will work out fine in the movie.
