This is my Technorati Twin! Who’s yours?

April 1st, 2007

I was just surfing through my Technorati rankings today and noticed that I have a Technorati Twin. To no one’s surprise, it’s the one who defeated me in the 2007 Blogger Tournament! After that tournament, we can see that Technorati rankings don’t mean anything towards traffic since I got my butt kicked!

Anyways, as you can see, you can have a technorati twin. I challenge anyone to find their twin!

*Update - I guess I have to fill up some space on this post to make sure the formatting looks right with the Adsense Ad in the middle of my posts. If anyone knows how to get around this, please let me know since it’s kind of annoying knowing that I always have to write a introduction of certain length to get my images placed in the correct spot*

it was complete coincidence . . . I doubt there’s a way to find your twin, but if you can figure one out, you win the challenge! :)

There is no way around your post format issue as you are floating the ad. What I have done in the past is just to add “” tags to increase the length to fit as needed.

It’s amazing how the rankings are the same even though I have more blogs linking to me. Obviously you have higher ranked blogs linking to you!

This might lead to an interesting study in the power vs quantity of blogs that are linking back to a URI.

    Nice find, though.

I think I’ll wait ’til my twin finds me, too. Haha.

or maybe ranking systems don’t have as much power as one would think. SERP’s and traffic may be the only indicator.

whoa that’s so crazy! you and saman are techno-twins… weird… ya i can’t imagine how you’d ever find someone with the exact same rating…

that’s funny about the formatting. lol sorry dude… you like to ramble anyway so you should be fine ;)

Just thinking off the top of my head, but couldn’t you you set up an adsense 468×60 banner in Adsense Deluxe (which I assume you’re using), and when you don’t have much to write, put the banner at the top of your post instead of the square? This should work if you’re adding adsense on each post, unless you’ve got it embedded in the template.

ya . . i do have it embedded into my template, so I can’t really follow your suggestion. I’ve been thinking about taking it out as a whole, but still on the fence about it
